At the invitation of the Consulate General of China in Rio de Janeiro, the Geopolitics Program of the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI) participated, last Friday (March 20, 2026), in a closed-door meeting on China's Two Sessions, which brought together Brazilian experts, diplomats, and representatives of the Chinese and Brazilian press.
The Two Sessions stand as one of the landmarks of China's political calendar, bringing together the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in their annual gathering. It is during this period that the country sets its economic targets for the year ahead, establishes political and regulatory priorities, and outlines the direction of the current Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).
At the event, the Consul General of China in Rio de Janeiro, Tian Min, shared her reflections and highlighted the importance of broadening the Brazilian public's understanding of the event. The discussion was further enriched by Brazilian academics, who contributed analyses on political, economic, and trade perspectives.
