Biography Haakon Lorentzen
An economist graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Haakon Lorentzen was born in Norway and has lived in Rio de Janeiro since the age of three months. He serves as Chairman of Lorinvest and as Director and CEO of Lorentzen Empreendimentos. He is also a board member of IBIO, the Harvard Business School Global Board, and the Center for Public Leadership (CLP). In addition, he sits on Suzano’s Sustainability Committee, the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) Leaders Council, and serves as Chairman and Trustee of WWF Brazil, as well as Ambassador of Endeavor. He previously served on the Board of Aracruz Celulose. Academically, Lorentzen completed executive education at Harvard Business School and received mentorship in sustainability from Erling Lorentzen, Eliezer Batista, and Israel Klabin.
