Biography Ronaldo Cesar Coelho

Ronaldo Cesar Coelho holds a degree in Law from PUC-Rio. He is a banker and manager of the Samambaia Master Equity Investment Fund, with holdings in companies such as Energisa and BR Distribuidora. He was a founding partner of Corretora Multiplic and President of Banco London Multiplic. Coelho also served as Director and President of the Brazilian Association of Investment Banks (ANBID) and as a member of the Board of Souza Cruz.

He was appointed Brazil’s Ambassador to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to lead Rio de Janeiro’s bid for the 2004 Olympic Games. One of the outcomes of this effort was the “Rio 2004 Social Agenda,” coordinated by sociologist Herbert de Souza (Betinho). Coelho served four terms as a Federal Deputy representing the State of Rio de Janeiro and held the position of Secretary of Industry, Commerce and Tourism under Governor Marcello Alencar. In the city administration, he also served as Secretary of Health under Mayor Cesar Maia.
