Brazil's Ambassador to China

Biography Marcos Galvão

Trustee at the Brazilian Center for International Relations (CEBRI). Marcos Galvão has been Brazil's Ambassador to China since August 2022. Before this current post, he was Head of the Mission of Brazil to the European Union, in Brussels, from February 2019 to July 2022. He served as Ambassador to Japan (2011-2013), Secretary General of Itamaraty (2016-2018)and Ambassador to the World Trade Organization (2013-2018). He has also served, throughout his career, in Washington, DC (1984-1987/2001-2005), Asunción (19871989) and London (1995-1998).

He also held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other organs of the Federal Government in Brasilia. At the Rio Branco Institute, where Brazilian diplomats are trained, Ambassador Galvão was Professor of Brazilian Foreign Policy and Diplomatic Language.
