Roundtable: Climate and Energy Transition

The reconfiguration of the global economy, driven both by geoeconomic transformations and the energy transition, has been reshaping the dynamics of power, trade, and development in the international system. On the one hand, trade is no longer merely an instrument of efficiency and increasingly reflects strategic disputes, with more fragmented global chains, greater selectivity, and a growing integration between economic, industrial, and security policies. On the other hand, the transition to a low-carbon economy is accelerating competition for technologies, investments, and strategic resources, while simultaneously repositioning countries within global value chains and creating new development opportunities. In this context, Brazil faces a decisive moment, in which its international insertion increasingly depends on its ability to articulate trade, industrial, and energy strategies, leveraging its natural and energy assets to strengthen competitiveness and expand its role in the new dynamics of the global economy.
