The Build the Shared Future initiative, conceived by the Rockefeller Foundation in collaboration with Wally Adeyemo, U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary under the Biden Administration (2021–2025), emerges as a response to the weakening of multilateralism and growing distrust in the institutions and norms underpinning the international order.
As the Rockefeller Foundation's interlocutor in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), CEBRI is conducting regional convenings to articulate a Latin American vision for the future of international cooperation in the 21st century, grounded in legitimacy, inclusion, and effectiveness.
The second convening, held during the Southern Voice Conference in São Paulo, brings together representatives from civil society, youth, the private sector, academia, and government authorities in spaces for listening, dialogue, and collective construction. The contributions gathered will be systematized into guiding principles reflecting the region's values, interests, and aspirations, serving as the basis for strategic regional engagement in the initiative's global process.
