This executive lunch, organized by CEBRI in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to Brazil and ApexBrasil, brought together public- and private-sector stakeholders for a strategic dialogue on the future of trade and geoeconomic relations between Brazil, Mercosur, and the European Union, in the context of discussions surrounding the signing of the EU–Mercosur Agreement and the ongoing reconfiguration of global trade dynamics. The event featured the special participation of Augusto Castro, Head of the Extra-Regional Trade Negotiations Unit at Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and chief negotiator of the EU–Mercosur Agreement.

The meeting provided a high-level forum for the exchange of perspectives on prospects for strengthening trade relations and investment flows between Brazil and the European Union. Held under the Chatham House Rule and designed to encourage active participation from all attendees, the discussion sought to foster an in-depth analysis of the challenges posed by the current geoeconomic environment and bilateral relationship, as well as the concrete opportunities for closer engagement amid global transformations in trade, sustainability, and technology.
