Specialists from CEBRI participate in the Third Dolomite Conference

CEBRI was present at the "Third Dolomite Conference on Climate Change: Redesign Green Policies in a post 1.5C World", held in Trento, Italy, through the participation of Andrea Hoffmann, Senior Fellow at CEBRI, and Julia Paletta, Energy and Climate Change Specialist at CEBRI's Environment and Climate Change Program. The globally-focused event aims to address critical issues related to climate change and sustainability. Bringing together over 100 participants from various parts of the world—including academics, students from Bocconi University and the Polytechnic University of Milan, entrepreneurs, managers, journalists, and politicians—the conference seeks to promote debates and generate concrete proposals to tackle climate challenges. Participants hailed from Brazil, India, Africa, China, the Maldives (leading the federation of the most threatened small island nations), Canada, the Middle East (with attendees from Dubai, the host of the recent UN Climate Conference – COP28 – and from Baku, the next COP host in November), and the United States.

Among the attendees were agricultural entrepreneurs, executives from major public companies leading the green transition, and managers from industries facing pressures from the energy transformation. Companies like AXA Italy, with their expertise in climate issues, also played a crucial role in the discussions.

The conference is organized by the think tank Vision and is structured around plenary sessions and problem-solving groups, addressing topics such as energy transition, social justice, carbon-neutral cities, and global climate governance. The proposals developed during the event are consolidated into the "Dolomite Manifesto," a document presented at important international forums, including events like the Conference of the Parties (COP). The participation of companies and key sectors in transportation and energy reinforces the commitment to leverage green technologies and sustainability practices in operations across each sector.
